9. Backup

This section provides detailed instructions for backing up and restoring static configurations and selected database tables in Ngenea Hub. It also describes how to prune older backup archives based on a configured retention policy. It is intended for administrators responsible for maintaining the stability and recoverability of the Hub environment.

Ngenea Hub’s backup and restore functionality allows administrators to preserve essential configuration data, such as users, schedules, workflows, external targets, spaces, and system settings.

By default, backups include configuration-related database tables and static configuration files.

When the --full flag is used, Hub Job history and task-related data is included in the backup.

The guide outlines the commands and procedures required to:

  • Export configuration data and database records into a secure archive

  • Optionally include Job history data using --full

  • Restore the system to a previously saved state

  • Prune older backups based on the configured retention policy

  • Configure automatic and scheduled backups

By following this document, administrators can ensure minimal downtime, maintain system integrity across updates or unexpected disruptions, and manage backup storage effectively.
