System Configuration & Maintenance

The following section describes how to upgrade DataCore Software Ngenea HSM in a PixStor GPFS cluster.

Upgrading

1. Stop any operation which would cause a file migration or recall

2. If Ngenea HSM is configured for transparent recall it is advised best practice to disable any potential transparent ngrecall operation by removing the Ngenea HSM transparent recall rules from the running filesystem policy

3. Upgrade the Ngenea HSM server and/or client software on all cluster nodes as appropriate

4. Re-enable the transparent recall rules in the filesystem policy as required
